Via Rail Canada Plan

Hubby and I have been wanting to try riding on the of VIA Rail's from Toronto to Vancouver. We hope to have the budget for this travel dream this December. I would love to see the winter view between Toronto and Vancouver, crossing the scenic lakelands of northern Ontario, touring the western plains of the Prairies and the splendid Canadian Rockies, and finishing the journey on the Pacific coast of British Columbia. It will also stops in Sudbury Junction, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Jasper and Kamloops.

Via Rail Canada also offer special stops for adventure lovers between Sudbury Junction and Winnipeg. You can get off anywhere even where there is no scheduled stop, simply by requesting a special stop. They created this service for outdoor enthusiasts who wish to get off in a "wilder" environment.
